DIY CHAIN EMBELLISHED SANDALS!
To make a pair of diy chain embellished sandals, you are going to need a pair of simple flats. The strappy ones will do well with thick straps. You can select a pair of leather flats to make it long lasting. Though black would be the perfect color to start with, but once you know how it looks you can try with more colors for the whole summer. You will also need half metre of curb chain which can be either silver or golden. Super glue, pliers, a needle and thread will be needed to attach the chain. Choose the color of the thread according to the color of your flats.
At first, measure the amount of the chain and the length of the strap on your flat. If you are only going to add on the front strap, measure it and separate the chain on that point by measuring the right amount from it. You can use pliers to open the exact links. Now as you have separated the chain, you have to attach it on the strap. Put the thread into the needle by making a knot at the knot and hold the chain on the strap. You have to sew the first link with the leather on any of the ends either left or right to settle it on that point. Make another sew to ensure that the first one is secured. Now you have ensured that on end of the chain is attached.
At this stage, you have to attach the rest of the chain for which you have to use the glue. Use a toothpick or Popsicle spoon to apply glue to the underside on the curb chain. Carefully place the curb chain on the strap and make it straight. When you are sure that it has been placed in right position, press the chain on the leather strap. To finish the attachment, you have to sew the last link at the last end. Use the needle and the thread again to sew the other end of the chain. Make it two so that you can ensure that it has been properly locked. Follow the same steps for the other flat and let the flats dry for overnight.
