A new local channel Essex TV could be the turning point for Essex as executives from the channel are reportedly keen to commission original programming that demonstrates class, intrigue and holds a high level of academia.

The new channel launching in early 2016 will is already being tipped to become serious competition for London Live, Channel 4 and Cambridge TV. The channel is privately owned by a consortium formed by former film executives, traders and lawyers.
